We always like to meet audience members in the bar after a show and this year we have some special reasons to celebrate that we hope you’ll stick around to hear about.

MONDAY, JULY 2
After Virgilo Piñera’s FALSE ALARM, join us for a complimentary drink (included with your ticket to the reading) and raise a glass to the 10th anniversary of Out of the Wings, and to officially launch this, our third annual festival, which in 2018 is bigger than ever.
TUESDAY, JULY 3
After Michelle Ferreira’s REALITY-THE FINAL, from Brazil, we look to Argentina and announce Marta Cocco’s book on TALLER DE INVESTIGACIONES TEATRALES, or TiT, the clandestine theatre workshop operating as a form of resistence during the most violent era of Argentina’s dictatorship. Copies of the book will be available.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 4
After the Chilean classic THE WIDOW OF APABLAZA, we come right up to date with announcements of future publications and productions by Out of the Wings members. From our 2017 festival, a forthcoming production at Theatre 503; a forthcoming anthology featuring two plays from our previous festivals, and from Estreno Plays, a publication in the United States of a new translation by one of our members.
THURSDAY, JULY 5
After Almudena Ramírez-Pantanella’s MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, we will celebrate the publication of a recent book entitled What is Cultural Translation? (published by Bloomsbury Academic) by the play’s translator, and co-organiser of our theatre translation forum, Sarah Maitland. This informal launch party is open to all, and discount vouchers to purchase the book at a reduced price will be provided.
FRIDAY, JULY 6
On the final night of our festival, we have no formal events planned, but we will certainly be in the mood for celebration and conversation (and looking forward to 2019) in the bar after Mariana de Althaus’s THE LANGUAGE OF THE MERMAIDS.
All events will take place in the bar of the Cervantes Theatre, after the evening’s play reading.
