**NOTE** The line-up for our post-show events has changed as of 27 July: please click here for the updated schedule.

*******************************************

As if play-readings, workshops and a day of debate and discussion weren’t enough, at Out of the Wings we celebrate into the evening with free events following our performances at the Omnibus Theatre.  Read on to find out what’s going on when, and join us!

TUESDAY JULY 30

After a day of debate and networking at our one-day forum, and the UK premiere reading of Gabriela Aguilera’s CASSANDRA, SANDRA, join us in the Omnibus Bar to officially open this, our fourth annual festival.  Have a drink on us (while stocks last) and raise a glass to another week of the best of theatre from the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking world.

WEDNESDAY JULY 31

We are delighted to have a musician in our midst!  After our evening reading of FERNANDO AND HIS GRANDMOTHER, join playwright Armando Nascimento Rosa for some fado, the traditional Portuguese song of love and longing that has entertained the Atlantic nation for two centuries.

THURSDAY AUGUST 1

A festival of plays is nothing without its playwrights and we’re honoured that some of our writers from around the Ibero-American world will be with us for the festival. Join us after Raquel Diana’s HER OPEN EYES for a post-show panel discussion with a number of our playwrights, as they reflect on their work, their practice, and the experience of being translated into English.

FRIDAY AUGUST 2

The weekend is here and after Jordi Casanovas’s BAD JOKE we will look to the future.  Out of the Wings is busy all year round and we’ll take a moment to share stories with friends old and new about what else our members are up to.  Expect to hear about publications, new translations, forthcoming performances, and more.

SATURDAY AUGUST 3

A double-bill of COMPLEMENTO by Rafael Guizado and FREDDIE by Abilio Estévez is our festival’s final event.  We’ve no formal post-show events planned, but we know we’ll all be in the Omnibus Bar to celebrate another week of Hispanic and Lusophone theatre in translation.  We hope you’ll stick around to say Hasta la próxima, Até à próxima, Until next time…

Check out our full programme at ootwfestival.com, and we’ll see you at the Omnibus Theatre from July 30 to August 3.
