Ricardo Neves-Neves trained as an actor at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema; in Theatre Studies at the Faculdade de Letras, Lisbon; and in Barcelona at the Obrador d’Estíu-Dramaturgia, led by Simon Stephens. He is the artistic director of Teatro do Eléctrico, where he writes and directs. Previous theatre includes: A Reconquista de Olivenza (winner, best production of a Portuguese play, Portuguese Society of Authors Prémio Autores 2021); The Swimming Pool Party (Time Out Lisbon best shows of 2018; nominee, best production of a Portuguese play, Portuguese Society of Authors Prémio Autores 2019; nominee, best Portuguese play, ASEFA theatre awards 2019); and Entraria nesta sala (Time Out Lisbon best shows of the year 2015). Other awards and recognitions include the Recognition Award for Professional of the Rotary Year 2019/2020 (Loulé Rotary Club); the Gerador Magazine Herói Gerador Award 2016; and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Prémio Novo Best Newcomer (Theatre) Award 2015.
