Mary Ann Vargas is a Peruvian theatre practitioner based in London, currently completing an art-based PhD with the Language Acts and Working project, at King’s College London. Her most recent work includes: Barrio, a Latinx variety night (Southwark Playhouse, 2019), and Making Song, a collaboration between VEM (Visual Embodied Methodologies Network) and Arts Cabinet, a pluri-disciplinary research platform promoting different forms of knowledge production. In 2020, she curated Ceremonias Pandémicas (OOTW), a trilogy of pre-recorded pieces by Abilio Estévez, translated by Kate Eaton. Ceremonias was a transnational collaboration in response to COVID-19. She is an active member of OOTW.
